Benrahma strike edges West Ham past Brentford

Brentford bring on Kevin Schade for his debut in their FA Cup tie against Brentford
Brentford striker Kevin Schade made his debut from the bench in the second half, after joining on a six-month loan from Freiburg this week

Said Benrahma’s goal helped West Ham into the FA Cup fourth round at the expense of his former side Brentford.

He collected the ball after a perfectly timed Declan Rice tackle and struck home from 25 yards.

It initially looked like the ball went in the corner, but replays showed it sailed just over reserve keeper Thomas Strakosha who should have done better.

Brentford made seven changes and only had one shot on target, in a game lacking attacking quality.
