Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton will be sidelined for a couple of weeks following an ankle injury this month.
The Red Devils ace rolled his ankle in training before the Fulham game but he has not recovered in time for the season restart.
Heaton has now confirmed the same and believes he could return to the matchday squad by the middle of April.
He said: “Unfortunately, the day before the Fulham game, I rolled my ankle in training.”
“Thankfully, it’s not too bad but it’ll mean a couple of weeks out, I think.
“I should be back some point in April somewhere, hopefully halfway through”
Heaton has not played a single Premier League match for United and he may not be required for the remainder of the campaign.
David de Gea is an undisputed starter for United and barring an injury, he is expected to start every game until the season ends.
In Heaton’s temporary absence, January loan signing Jack Butland is expected to warm the bench as the deputy keeper.
