The Socceroos will farewell their Australian fans ahead of their FIFA World Cup campaign with games against Cameroon and Curacao in March.
As part of the FIFA Series, Australia will host five-time African Cup of Nations champions Cameroon at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on March 27, and Curacao — a Dutch Caribbean island which became the smallest ever nation to qualify for the World Cup — on March 31 at Melbourne’s AAMI Park.
“Facing opponents from different confederations is exactly the type of preparation we need at this stage of our campaign,” Socceroos coach Tony Popovic said.

“Cameroon and Curacao each bring their own style and strengths, which will challenge us in different ways.
“These matches will give us valuable insights and help sharpen our performances ahead of the World Cup.
“It is also a fantastic occasion for our fans. To have two international matches back‑to‑back, including our final home game before the World Cup, makes this a special moment for Australian football.”
China will also play against Cameroon (Melbourne) and Curacao (Sydney) as part of double-headers on both dates.
“The tournament represents a significant moment for Australian football, providing the Socceroos with invaluable preparation ahead of their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign,” Football Australia’s deputy chief executive officer Heather Garriock said.
The World Cup – to be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico – starts on June 11.
The Socceroos’ Group D opponents will include the USA, as well as Paraguay and either Slovakia, Kosovo, Turkey or Romania, who are involved in playoffs in March.
