Newcastle are ready to break their club transfer record to sign Ruben Neves from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Toon Army are reportedly preparing an initial bid of £70 million to sign the Portuguese midfielder, and are condident a deal and agreement with the player can be reached before the end of the January transfer window.
Ruben Neves has been a consistent performer for Wolves, helping the club survive Premier League relegation for the last few seasons and has now emerged as a target for Newcastle United. The Saudi Arabian owned club have a budget of £180 million to spend on new players, and the midfielder has emerged as the club’s first choice signing for January.
Ruben Neves‘ former club Porto sold the Mozelos-born star to Wolves and since moving to his current club in 2017, the 25-year-old has played over 200 games in the Premier League.
The midfielder has played 37 games for his country and is one of Portugal’s most important members.
