Arsenal defender William Saliba could be sidelined for several weeks following his back injury against Sporting Lisbon.
The France international sustained the setback in the opening half against Sporting and he was immediately substituted.
Saliba subsequently missed the 4-1 Premier League win over Crystal Palace and it is now reported that he could be out for a while.
The centre-back has already withdrawn from international duty and he will be hoping to make his comeback as soon as possible.
Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes have been pivotal at the heart of the defence for the Gunners and the former’s absence is a huge blow.
Rob Holding stepped up to partner Gabriel in the derby win on Sunday, but there are still question marks over his consistency.
Holding has produced several stand-out moments, but doubts remain over his ability to perform at a high level over many games.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will be hoping that Saliba will be involved in April. Arsenal are currently eight points clear at the top of the league.
