Chelsea are expected to finalise the transfer of David Datro Fofana from Molde in the next few days, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The west London giants are determined to bolster their strikeforce in January following the long-term injury for Armando Broja.
Broja suffered a serious knee injury during a recent friendly and he has been ruled out for the remainder of the current season.
Romano has now revealed that Chelsea are on the verge of landing Fofana after agreeing a transfer fee of €12m with Molde.
The Ivorian has been given permission to travel to London for a medical and a transfer could be formally completed very soon.
Fofana has had a terrific year at Molde with 28 goal contributions. His progress at the club has been likened to Erling Haaland‘s.
Haaland started off his career at Molde before making the switch to Salzburg. Chelsea will be hoping that Fofana can replicate him.
Fofana could make his Blues debut at the beginning of 2023
