RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol has opened the door for a Premier League move amid interest from Chelsea.
The Croatian was the subject of huge interest from the Blues last summer, but Leipzig decided against doing business.
The London giants are still monitoring and they have been handed a boost with Gvardiol keen on moving to England.
He told The Times: “I don’t know if you know this but my goal in my career is to play in the Premier League.”
The Blues were determined to land Gvardiol before last summer’s transfer deadline, but a deal did not materialise.
They have since added another central defender in Benoit Badiashile, but could still return for Gvardiol this summer.
Thiago Silva will be 39 before the end of the current year and Gvardiol could be considered as his long-term successor.
Leipzig rejected a fee of €90m from the Blues for Gvardiol back in August and they could demand close to €100m this summer.
