Ten Hag eyeing Timber deal?

Manchester United are still monitoring Ajax defender Jurrien Timber ahead of a potential transfer in the summer, The Sun report.

The Netherlands star was heavily linked with the Red Devils in the last transfer window, but he decided to continue at Ajax instead.

Timber was wary of leaving the Eredivisie outfit in a World Cup year and felt that it would be better served to stay with the club.

It is now reported that Erik ten Hag has not given up on landing him and the United hierarchy could make a renewed approach this summer.

Timber can play in central defence or as a right-back. He could be seen as a replacement for Harry Maguire or Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Maguire has fallen out-of-favour under Ten Hag this campaign and he is said to be assessing his options for the next transfer window.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag is eyeing an upgrade on Wan-Bissaka. The 25-year-old’s limited offensive threat could see him leave the club
