The LA Galaxy have signed homegrown player Jonathan Perez to a four-year contract extension, keeping him at the club through 2026 with an option for 2027.
The 19-year-old player made his Galaxy debut in 2021, and has since managed seven appearances in all competitions. Perez most notably scored a goal in the 2-0 win over Chivas de Guadalajara in this year’s Leagues Cup Showcase, in front of a sell-out crowd of 71,189 fans at SoFi Stadium.
“We are excited for Jonny to sign a long-term deal to continue his pathway at the Galaxy,” head coach Greg Vanney said.
“Jonny is a talented and dynamic winger that has developed through the LA Galaxy Academy and made an impact at every level. We look forward to his continued growth and success with the first team in the years to come.”
The player is a direct product of the LA Galaxy academy, where he recorded 41 goals in over 100 matches throughout the youth system. He also amassed eight goals and eight assists over two seasons with the team’s USL championship affiliate LA Galaxy II.
Internationally, Perez has represented Mexico at the Under 16, Under 18, Under 19 and Under 20 levels, and notched a goal and two assists during the 2022 CONCACAF Under 20 Championship in Honduras.
