The home shirt that Barcelona are expected to wear for the 2023/24 season will pay subtle homage to the club’s women’s team and their journey that began in the 1970s.
These days, Barça have arguably the very best women’s team on the planet. The team has won a staggering 60 Liga F games in a row since being beaten by Atletico Madrid in 2021 – they actually rang up number 60 by thrashing Atletico 4-0 on Saturday.
The Catalans are also favourites to win the Champions League, having previously won it in 2021 and lost to Lyon in last season’s heavyweight final.
Early leaks of next season’s home shirt suggest a timeless thick blue and red stripes design. But the borders of each stripe are set to incorporate a diamond-inspired edge. There will even be a ‘hidden’ shimmering diamond added to the traditional club crest.

The reason for it is that a Barcelona women’s team founded in 1970 used a badge that featured a diamond. That side is recognised in history as Barcelona’s women, although the current iteration of Barcelona Femeni officially became part of the club in 2002.
Barça have often experimented with different designs and shades of red and blue over the years –including this season when an additional darker blue stripe has been added, as well as a checkerboard in 2019/20. But the expected design and colouration of the next home shirt is set to have strong similarities to the jersey from the 1970s worn by Camp Nou icon Johan Cruyff.
The Nike logo and Spotify sponsor branding that have been gold this season will be white.
