Man Utd vs Sevilla – Europa League: TV channel, team news, lineups & prediction

Manchester United return to continental action on Thursday night with the visit of Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League.

The Red Devils welcome the six-time champions to Old Trafford looking to right some pretty sorry wrongs in the history of this fixture.

While Sevilla are the definitive Europa League team, they’ve endured quite a tough season and are fighting for survival in La Liga, so a deep run in this competition could prove problematic.

Meanwhile, United are looking to add to the one piece of silverware they’ve already claimed this season after winning the Carabao Cup.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of this week’s encounter.

Man Utd team news

Manchester United will almost certainly have to navigate the first leg at least without star forward Marcus Rashford, who picked up an injury in Saturday’s win against Everton.

Erik ten Hag will also be without Luke Shaw, Alejandro Garnacho and Tom Heaton, while Donny van de Beek is out for the season.

Casemiro is also available having missed United’s last four Premier League games through suspension. He featured in both legs of their last 16 win against Real Betis.

Former Sevilla loanee Anthony Martial could make his first start since January after returning from a hip problem.

(4-2-3-1): De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia; Casemiro, McTominat; Antony, Fernandes, Sancho; Martial.

Sevilla team news

Jose Luis Mendilibar will be without Joan Jordan and Jesus Corona for the trip to England through injury, while Pape Gueye is not registered in their Europa League squad.

Lucas Ocampos is available again following a suspension, while Tottenham loanee Bryan Gil and alumni Erik Lamela could start – the latter brought a red card out of Martial on his last visit to Old Trafford.

Other former Premier League stars who could feature are ex-Manchester City men Jesus Navas and Fernando. Suso, once of Liverpool, is also in contention.

Alex Telles, on loan from United, is eligible to face his parent club due to UEFA rules.

(4-2-3-1): Bono; Navas, Bade, Gudelj, Acuna; Fernando, Rakitic; Ocampos, Suso, Gil; En-Nesyri.

Ten Hag has managed to arrest United’s recent slump and they now look formidable on home turf once again.

Sevilla contain many combustible characters capable of losing their cool at any given moment and their priorities lie elsewhere.

This ought to be a relative walkover for United, who should at last be able to celebrate a victory against Los Nervionenses and stand on the verge of eliminating a third Spanish team from the Europa League this season.

Prediction: Man Utd 2-0 Sevilla
