Eleven minutes into stoppage time and his team down 2-1, Netherlands striker Wout Weghorst equalised with a timely goal to tie up the scores and send the match into extra time.
Weghorst received the ball on a short pass from a free kick deep inside the box in a tactical play that’s drawn huge praise before he turned and slotted the goal.

The epic moment made for scenes of pandemonium at Lusail Stadium as Dutch players and fans alike went nuts in celebration.
They weren’t the only ones, with the football world at large amazed by Weghorst’s brilliant goal.
It’ll go down as one of the most memorable moments – and games – of this year’s thrilling World Cup.
And it’s perhaps all the more remarkable considering Weghorst scored a near identical goal two years ago.
Argentina scored the opening goal of the match trough Nahuel Molina at the 35th minute before Lionel Messi put his side up 2-0 as it looked like marching on to the semi-finals.
Weghorst responded with his first goal at the 83rd minute to keep Netherlands alive before his brilliant equaliser came at the death of extra time.
